I recently spent a festive break at the Marine Hotel in Invergordon, and while the location was convenient with free parking and a lovely view of the surrounding Moray Firth, the experience didn't quite match the holiday spirit we were hoping for. The room was spacious and clean, with complimentary shortbread and coffee that initially made us feel at home, but issues like brown water from the taps left us seeking alternatives elsewhere for a proper rinse. On the upside, the hotel serves a generous continental breakfast and has a bar where we tried local beverages; however, the lack of responsive staff and basic amenities, like functional latches on toilets, detracted from our stay. If you're planning to explore places like Dalmore Distillery or Cromarty Museum, definitely consider a day trip to enjoy the area, ideally after finding a better place to stay!
